It takes a whole lot of fabulous to keep J Space going, so every month we feature guest stars for you to meet and learn about. Our May guest is Hillary Bernhardt, a Blue Valley North High School freshman.

Hillary in High School: Week Two

I have goals that are tucked away in the back of my mind. Then, I have my list. Extremely special, it’s comprised of simple, silly things that somehow escaped my childhood.

Here, I proclaim the importance of youth. Adolescence is crucial to each individual’s development of seemingly unimportant skills and abilities. Youth is a once in lifetime period when the only things that matter are counting flower petals or riding bikes. With all this time, opportunities abound for random skill development. And children act as sponges, absorbing all they can.

Aaliyah the Icon.

Aaliyah Aaliyah
Seven years after her death, it's still hard to believe Aaliyah is gone. I look at artists like Ciara, Rihanna, Cherish, even Justin Timberlake, and I see Aaliyah's influences. Fader magazine gave her the cover of the annual icon issue, in stores now. Here's a snippet from the press release.

Kobe Bryant is the MVP, and in my opinion, he deserves it. But some feel LeBron, who came in fourth behind Kobe, deserved more consideration.

Pampered Pregnancies

Nicole RichieNicole Richie

So, I was reading Jezebel today and came across a very interesting story that ran in the New York Post (click the pic) on the pampered pregnancy.

In short, it's all about this indulgent trend among moms-to-be: manis, pedis, waxes, hair, all the fab stuff before the big delivery.

Sex and the City and Sarah Jessica Parker

Sex and the CitySex and the City

Yes, I am a longtime fan of "Sex and the City." But, in the years that the show has been off air, I have definitely come to view things differently than I did as a college student. Nevertheless, I'm excited to see the show on the big screen (May 30th if Oprah didn't remind you enough times last week). We all have our favorite character, and for many women, it's hands down Carrie Bradshaw. If you are a fan of Carrie, you should click the pic and check out a really great story on Sarah Jessica Parker that recently ran in New York magazine. It talks about how the show changed New York, SJP's status and a lot of women all over the world. What's your take on the show?

ONE LESS.

Be One Less.Be One Less.

By now, most people have seen the "One Less" Gardasil commercials with the cheesy, catchy song. And if you haven't seen the commercials, surely you have heard about the vaccine. It's no joke, if you are a female under 26, you need to take this very seriously. And now the pricey vaccine ($300-$500) is being offered for free at select clinics in Kansas and Missouri. Clair Huxtable, Supermom

Clair HuxtableClair Huxtable

Hands down, she is one of the most phenomenal women I have ever seen — even if it was only from my living room couch.

Clair Huxtable was a supermom, and week after week I hung on to her every word. How I longed to be a Cosby kid.

They may have had only five children on “The Cosby Show,” but Clair and Cliff helped raise a generation of kids.
